Who can think of Lake Nipissing without thinking of fishing? Walleye, Trophy Muskie, Northern Pike, Large Mouth and Small Mouth Bass, Perch and numerous pan fish for the kids. We have good access to Lake Nipissing (short 10 minute boat ride) where you can fish the sheltered Fish Bay and Hunter's Bay. For the more adventurous the Gull Islands are but 1/2 hour boat ride away. When Nipissing is too rough, we have miles of South River to fish. In the spring, Walleye can be found right off our dock. A short boat ride to Chapman's Falls can find excellent opportunities. The river is good Bass fishing during the summer months, and don't forget the Northern Pike. Ice fishing during the Winter is excellent. Walleye, Pike and Perch are in abundance and you will hardly feel the cold.

Step into the enchanted and breathtaking beauty that we call Lake Nipissing. A place where the fishing gods are forever looking down on you, where nature surrounds the soul, and relaxation is part and parcel of your vacation itinerary. The fishing spots are indeed limitless in this part of the world, with more than enough walleye, bass, pike and musky to give any fisherperson an endless game of tug-of-war. Join us for a dream vacation this coming season, and discover why family, friends, fishing and fun are the main reasons we've been welcoming Canadian's and American's since 1939.

Lake Nipissing is a bonofide fish-producing factory. Where else can you consistently catch trophy size walleye, muskie, northern pike, large and smallmouth bass and panfish - all within a short boat ride to the welcoming sight of the dock? Our own river is a major spawning ground for most species, so you can be certain that finding fish to tangle with will never be a problem.

Come and try the sheltered bays of Lake Nipissing, including Fish Bay, Hunter's Bay and Gull Islands, all found less than thirty minutes by boat from your front door. If the big lake gets overly rough, rest assured that the miles of shoreline found in the South River will offer you excellent fishing opportunities, as well as calm and restful waterways.

Although Nipissing hosts a great chance at a trophy, it's the average size catches that tell the true tale of a productive fishery. Our guests wrestle with walleye in the one to two-pound range regularly (the slot states that anything between 40cm and 60cm be put back), smallmouth between one and three-pounds and northern pike averaging over five-pounds - with many going greater than twelve-pounds the last few years. For those in search of jumbo perch, Nipissing can produce some of the finest catches found throughout the area.

How about casting from our docks during the evening hours, and tempting those eating size walleye to pay a visit to the landing net? Better still, share the pleasures of panfishing with your son or daughter, while the waves gently lap at your feet during the warm midday sun.

We are more than happy to help you find and catch fish, and Larry and Dan are always available for their deluxe "Fishing 101" guiding excursions. We sell live bait to help you even the odds, and fishing charters can certainly be arranged.

Filleting your catch will be a breeze when using the comfort of our screened-in and well-lit fish cleaning station. We provide our guests with two sinks, a "waste freezer" and optional freezer services. It doesn't come much better than that.

Bring On the Boats We take pride in the fleet of boats we own, as safety, functionality and comfort are of our utmost concern. Our rental boats are strong and extremely fishable, but best of all, they are up to date. We carry new 16-foot Legend Widebody boats, complete with swivel seats, fish finder, live wells and 15 hp. motors. Of course, all life jackets, gas and oil and necessary safety equipment are provided.

For those new to the boating scene, training sessions are available, although we recommend having a boater's operator card. If you prefer to bring your own boat, launching can be done on the township public ramp, and docking is provided within our facilities on Beatty Creek.

Rest and Relaxation Come sit by the pool, and feel the stress of everyday life slowly drain away. Whether you choose to read a book or stare at the clouds with the children, relaxation will be yours to fully savour. Take one of our paddleboats or canoe for a lazy drift down the river, taking in the sights and sounds that make Noising the paradise that it is. Stop at one of the many islands and take part in a 'north-country' shore lunch - the flavors will positively melt in your mouth. Wildlife is all around you when visiting Nipissing, and the grounds throughout our lodge play home to many species of birds, as well as deer, moose, chipmunks and squirrels. (We even have a pair of Ospreys that nest at the mouth of the river each year.) Be sure to bring binoculars, and of course, a camera to regard every breathtaking moment. Whether you are by yourself or with your family, we guarantee you will never run out of things to do and see. And that's what vacations are all about, aren't they? Come and take a dip in our large in-ground heated pool, or discover one of the beautiful beaches that lie close at hand. For the small kids, we have a safe and fun playground that will provide hours of laughter and enjoyment.

And for those bigger 'kids,' horseshoe pits and a shuffleboard are always looking for enthusiastic players. Our recreation hall offers a dry environment for those rainy afternoons, filled with a large selection of children's movies and games that are sure to keep the most indiscriminate of kids occupied. And for those folk with a thirst for history, a local museum and antique shop can be found close by in the quaint village of Nipissing. After a restful morning of fishing, why not grab your clubs and hit one of the local links? Golf courses can be found close to the lodge, and we are more than happy to arrange a tee time for your fun day in the sun. Or how about setting off on a short drive to North Bay (30 minutes) to take in one of the many malls? While you're there, be sure to check out the beautiful waterfront, where there is always something going on to amuse and excite.

Comfort and convenience are what makes for a pleasant stay at a lodge, and when designing our cottages, we certainly kept this in mind. Our ten cottages offer a semi-private atmosphere, sheltered from the prevailing winds and all offering a view of the river. Take your pick of a one bedroom or a three, with enough space in the largest cottage to accommodate upwards of 8 people comfortably. We pride ourselves on attention to detail, because for one week of the year, this will become your home away from home.

Our winterized cottages offer full conveniences to our guests, including such things as 3 or 4 piece bathrooms, a full kitchen stocked with dishes, pots, pans and cutlery, as well as a toaster and coffee maker. Throughout the fair weather months, we provide all pillows and linens. Preparing meals has never been easier, especially when a propane BBQ and picnic table is provided for each of the ten cottages. Although our lodge is strictly housekeeping in July and August we offer a lunch BBQ on Sundays for everyone to mingle and get acquainted with the other guests. Along with a tasty feast comes a question and answer period, a small talk on attractions, and of course the favorite topic of all - how and where to catch fish. If there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, please feel free to ask. Chances are we have just the item you might be searching for.
