We are a family run camp located on a remote island in the Temagami region of Northern Ontario. We invite you to browse through our site to find out more about our beautiful region, and the services we offer to make your next vacation, a memorable one.

FACILITIES at ANIMA-NIPISSING ADVENTURES

House Keeping Cottages

Accommodation consists of 5 comfortably furnished log cottages with two double bunk beds in each. The cottages sleep 4 comfortably, but can accommodate up to 8 persons. Bed linen, blankets and towels are provided. Propane is used for lights, cook stove, and refrigeration (no electricity). Cottages have cold running water and a wood stove and are equipped with dishes and cooking utensils. There is a central hot shower and sauna.

What To Bring- food, toilet articles, flashlight and of course fishing gear. We can suggest nearby grocery stores for your food shopping.

BOATS and CANOES at ANIMA-NIPISSING ADVENTURES

We rent 18' cedar strip fishing boats with 9.9 HP outboard motors. We provide adult Life Jackets but recommend that parents provide Life Jackets for their children. Fibre glass, kevlar, and aluminum canoes are available.

SWIMMING at ANIMA-NIPISSING ADVENTURES

Swimming the lake is crystal clear and there is good swimming from our swim platform at the north end of the island.

Our camp provides an ideal setting for fishing enthusiasts, family holidays, quiet relaxation, canoeing, and eco-tourism.

FAMILY HOLIDAYS at ANIMA-NIPISSING ADVENTURES

Our camp can provide an ideal location for family holidays or for a quiet retreat. There is excellent swimming in the summer, which can be combined with canoe trips, hiking and fishing.

The autumn is an excellent time for quiet relaxation and exploring the lake and many trails.

FISHING at ANIMA-NIPISSING ADVENTURES

There is excellent fishing in the main lake for Walleye, Lake Trout, Small Mouth Bass and Northern Pike. There are several nearby lakes for back country fishing for Speckle, Rainbow, and Lake Trout, as well as Small Mouth Bass and trophy Pike.

We have boats and motors on some lakes and can portage canoes into other lakes.

We DO NOT sell fishing licenses or bait, but we can purchase bait for you before your arrival.

FISHING SEASON WALLEYE - Walleye opens the third Saturday in May

FISHING SEASON SMALLMOUTH BASS - Smallmouth bass opens the last Saturday in June

FISHING SEASON LAKE TROUT - Lake trout opens January 1st and closes September 30th

FISHING SEASON NORTHERN PIKE - Pike is open all year

CANOE TRIPPING at ANIMA-NIPISSING ADVENTURES

Our camp is situated in the picturesque Temagami-Lady Evelyn canoe region, one of Ontario's most renowned canoeing destinations. Located on a main canoe route, Anima Nipissing Adventures offers access to more than 24 other canoe routes within 8000 square kilometers of breathtaking lakes and rivers.

We can provide canoes, paddles and PFD's for your trip.

ECO-TOURISM at ANIMA-NIPISSING ADVENTURES

Eco-tourism can include many different activities. Depending on the interest of individuals.

For instance:

• Take a 2 km. hike and see lakes in different stages of eutrophication.
• Take a trip up the Montreal River by freighter canoe.
• Take day canoe trips into the many bays on the main lake.

Visit rock cliffs with aboriginal peoples pictographs, an old saw mill, a clear cut area that has been reforested, old mines on the lake, old growth forest, a peat bog and study the unique plant and animal life in the bog.
