The area has bait and tackle shops that can provide you with information and fishing tips. Ice fishing packages are available at local lodges as well. You can bring your own gear and snowmobile or you can use the gear provided for you, as well as rent heated ice huts that are placed on well known fishing spots. Temagami is approximately 2,300 square kilometers. Its northern boundary is the township line at James Lake and the southern boundary is just south of the Martin River Provincial Park. To the east it takes in Rabbit Lake and to the west it includes half of Obabika Lake. Cottages in the Temagami Wilderness REMOTE FISHING IN ONTARIO CANADA for WALLEYE, NORTHERN, BASS & TROUT YOUR FISHING BOAT PARKED AT YOUR OWN DOCK Great Fishing Lady Evelyn Lake - Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Whitefish, Perch - This is one of the last, large lakes in Northeast Ontario that is still classified as being remote, mainly due to the dam at the north end and absolutely NO ROAD ACCESS. It covers an area roughly 22,000 acres in size when added to Sucker Gut (funny name, beautiful lake) and Willow Island Lakes. Upwards of 450 miles of wilderness shoreline for walleye to cruise, bass to nest and northern pike to ambush. Red Pine is located on the Northeast arm of the lake featuring many sheltered fishing areas and water depths in the 15' to 40' range. No need to hunt for trophies in deep water here. In fact, as large as Lady Evelyn Lake is, most guests stay within a three mile radius of Red Pine Island for most of their fishing excursions! Following on this page is an overview of fishing on the main lake (Lady Evelyn Lake).

Northland Paradise Lodge

Northland Paradise Lodge is situated on a series of five adjoining lakes that stretch for 30 miles (50 km.). Snake Island, Cassels and Rabbit Lakes all have smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, lake trout and whitefish. Gosselin Lake has northerns and some bass. Oboshkong Lake has walleye, bass, northerns and whitefish. A short portage will take you to either Sunrise Lake or Blueberry Lake and then on to Dalton or Telford Lakes where huge bass see very few fishermen a year. Its a fly tier's dream come true! Begin fishing the open waters with lures for "ice out" lake trout in early May (dates vary with arrival of spring breakup). Later and until season closes on September 30, catch up to 20 pound (10 kg) lakers with downriggers or steel line. Battle a trophy size smallmouth bass (6 lb. plus/3 kg.) during the summer and early fall. Fight a northern pike (up to 25 lbs./10 kg.) all year round, either through the ice or in open waters. Bring your favorite lure to catch a walleye/pickerel (some in the 15 lb./7 kg. range) in the early morning mist or in the evenings under almost unbelievable colored sunsets. Winter ice fishing starts after mid December and continues into April, depending on dates for freeze-up and ice-out. Lakers, northerns, walleye and whitefish (some up to 5 lbs. or 2 kg.) are common at that time of year. Although not a common winter catch, ling are delicious either right from the frying pan or fresh out of our smoker.
