Lake Temagami Trophy Live Release Contest Winners Announced

The draw for the winners of the Lake Temagami Trophy Live Release Contest was held at the January 31 meeting of the Temagami Stewardship Council in Temagami. The Stewardship initiated the contest at the start of the 2004 fishing season. A trophy lake trout had to be over 10 lbs. and a trophy pickerel had to be over 6 lbs. An angler entered the contest by catching a trophy lake trout or walleye measuring the weight, length and girth and taking a picture before releasing the fish. The picture submitted to the Stewardship was the entry fee in the contest.

The winner of the trophy lake trout for 2004 was Terri Dickson of Ottawa with an 18 lb. lake trout. Wayne Yarrow of Island 725 Lake Temagami was the winner of the trophy walleye with his 11.5 lb. fish. Both anglers will receive a replica mount of their trophy courtesy of Advanced Taxidermy of Toronto.
